The primary purpose of the CNC Machinist is to setup and operate various CNC and manual metal fabricating equipment for various materials according to various specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments and work piece on machine.
• Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle.
• Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate parameters such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.
• Clean machine and tooling.
• Load control media such as tape, card or disk into machine controller and enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions from database.
• Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of- tolerance conditions.
• Measure and verify parts meet specified blueprints, sketches, and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task.
• Setup and operate numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broadening.
• Perform operations/tasks as specified on router.
• Monitor machines to assure machines function in a safe and efficient manner.
