POSITION OVERVIEW:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for assisting the Hardware Team to prototype and manufacture Figur’s product offerings.  The candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and operation as well as hands on knowledge of machinery maintenance and assembly.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preparing stock material for machining; cutting aluminum and steel billet to size; deburring and marking materials
• Fixturing stock material for machining on 5-Axis and 3-Axis CNC mills
• Checking tooling for issues; maintaining and organizing tooling
• Calibrating tooling and machinery; checking for level and accuracy of machinery
• Monitoring coolant and oil levels of machinery; managing chips and keeping machinery clean and free of chips; 
• Helping with organization of shop tools and equipment; performing routine maintenance
• Assisting with assembly of machinery; helping with receiving, tracking, and organizing parts and stock material; operating forklift to receive shipments; using a pallet jack and/or pallet stacker to move materials
• Generating 3-axis and 5-axis toolpaths for machining using Fusion360 CAM software

Experience and Qualifications:

• 2 year college degree 
• 1-2 years experience running a metal CNC-mill, cutting both aluminum and steel 
• High level of comfort and familiarity working in a metalworking shop environment
• Experience with power tools and hand tools a must; experience with a bandsaw, drill press, and sheet metal shear ideal
• Experience working with CAD/CAM

Nice to have skills and experience:

• Knowledge of Fusion360 / Solidworks / Catia
• 5-Axis machining experience
• Operating Hurco CNC mills
• Forklift operator 
• Experience with logistics, material handling and tracking
