C&M is currently looking for a Senior level Milling Setup/Programmer to help us grow our Milling Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with technical and leadership abilities and drive!
Summary
A technical resource to design, implement, control and optimize manufacturing processes for our Milling Group. This includes the translation of customer prints to create a compliant part, maintaining product process by using sound machining principles, troubleshoot production issues, assessing production processes and making improvement recommendations.
Essential Functions
- Develop manufacturing processes and machining programs for new products, product changes and enhancements as per requested by customer in blueprint form.
- Develop prototypes and perform application programming for products.
- Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods, including time to setup and use of probes. Optimize machining processes making improvements to current operations to improve efficiency. Recommend and implement cost reductions.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from machinist and operators.
- Maintains product, process programs, ensuring organization and standardization.
- Improve documentation, including but not limited to layout/setup sheets
- Complete design and development projects by Training and Guiding Less Experienced Production Set-Up Personnel.
- Optimize and document machine setup processes, standardize processes.
- Coordinate with Production, Designing and Troubleshooting Fixtures.
Competencies
- Setup and programming experience in 5-axis milling (Okuma preferred)
- CAM Software (featurecam, Autodesk preferred)
- Experience in high production environment preferred
